Dear Praying Friends,
Thank you for your faithful prayer and financial contributions!
Visitors!
We were so excited to host our first visitors since we arrived in Bolivia! The Dueck family are very good friends of ours and we were able to keep the visit a secret and surprise our children! Our children were so confused when we pulled onto the yard with a trailer full of luggage. We had a great time with the Dueck family. Brother Dueck preached our Family Conference and it was a blessing as he gave Biblical principles on the home and how to rear children. It was also a blessing to put our facility to use. We were so excited to furnish the rooms for their stay.
Helpers in Outreach
It was a great blessing to have Brother Dueck help in our local outreach as well in our city outreach. We had a great time with door-to-door soul winning in our village and had some great visits. It was also good to go visit the gentleman that got saved in February and introduce him to Brother Dueck. Turns out that the gentleman that got saved comes here to Bolivia for vacation and works in Canada all summer. He lives in Winkler, MB which is six miles from where Brother Dueck lives. We had a great visit with him and were able to give him a discipleship course. Please pray that they would be able to connect as he is back in Canada again, and that he would grow and attend church.
We continued with our city outreach in Santa Cruz. There is so much potential in this ministry. This is very different from one on one soul winning. In this case, we are just handing out Gospel tracts left and right. Please pray for follow-up contacts in these instances.
The children had a great time as we handed out invitations to the Family Conference in our community as well as another small community. We also put up invitations in local businesses. Please pray for the community to open up. We had no visitors for the Conference. We still kept pushing on in hopes of someone coming out though. There is much help needed in this specific area of people’s lives. We need strong leaders in the home, church and community.
Please pray as we seek to enter another aspect of outreach. We are looking to get out into the colonies next and have Bible studies and to have evangelistic services. This is a huge commitment and will stretch our family. We need labourers! For now, the best thing is that we seek as many avenues to reach out as possible!
Gas!
Things are better now concerning gasoline and diesel in Bolivia. But we have had gas shortages recently. This means waiting in line for 3 hours in vain and up to 6 hours for a tank of gas. 50 to 100 car lineups are now considered short. Please pray about this situation, as well as the upcoming federal elections in August.
Family
According to our latest ultrasound appointment we will be having a baby girl! Brenda is doing well and the pregnancy is going well. Ember was excited to celebrate birthday number 3! She was excited to have some of the local folks come out and celebrate with her! Pray for Renee as she is healing from surgery. Sunday April 27 she woke up with a sharp pain. We had blood work done and a CT scan which showed an inflamed appendix. She had an emergency appendectomy performed with about 4 hours from her appendix erupting. We praise the Lord for how He orchestrated everything and that we could have all these services done so quickly. Each step was a miracle.
Home/Property Purchase
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed towards our last quarterly instalment in the acquisition of the property. We kindly request your continued prayers as we strive to pay the remaining three quarterly instalments. Below is a chart detailing the amounts paid and the amounts owing.
Thank you!
