Dear Pastor and Church,
"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth will draw all men unto me." John 12:32 This is the last message our Lord preached to the public. He wanted all to hear because it is the most important message that can be proclaimed; still being preached today. If a man will not hear this message he will not hear any message. Christ promised that if we will preach the Cross, He will draw all men, regardless of race, language, or status, to Himself. The attraction that draws sinful men is the love of Jesus. He gently but powerfully draws sinners unto and eternal union with Him. Such a simple message of salvation, but mankind still refuses to listen.
But God is still working in peoples' hearts on Six Nations Reserve. The new Pastor has reopened Garlow Line Baptist Academy with 9-10 students, some of them that have not been in a Christian school before. Alos, a new couple were baptized a few weeks ago. There is much to be done at Garlow Line in this new year. Pastor Jing is doing a great job.
My heart has been encouraged in these days of sickness and discouragement. Feeling my ministry is done, yet God has shown me differently. There are three Baptist churches on Six Nations whose pastors are men out of Garlow Line. Dan Montour (retired pastor); Bill Hill present pastor at Bethany Baptist Church; Raymond Johnson at Medina Baptist Church; Ken Hess at Lighthouse Baptist Church (a new work begun a few years ago); and also Pastor Jing at Garlow Line Baptist Church.
Our hearts are saddened due to two precious ladies who have been with Garlow Line for thirty-plus years and have gone to be with the Lord. One is Val Curley who wrote her testimony in one of our previous newsletters. She had cancer in several places and lived only a few months. Shirley Henhawk, a dear mom and grandmother to a large family, had a great testimony as well. These ladies will be greatly missed. They added so much to our church always working even in the wee hours of the night.
I am working with three doctors now trying to find out what is wrong with me. I have been told the Parkinson's is the cause for most of my issues. I am very weak and my mobility is bad. Elaine has been doing a great job looking after me as my total caregiver. We do have homecare coming in 3-4 days a week. I thank God for how He has touched Elaine's body. What a mighty God we serve .
We want to thank you all for your faithful prayers and support! We thank you for all the special offerings as well. We are striving to contend for the faith amid these infirmities. We continue to covet your prayers. We love you and thank you for your love to the Native people of Six Nations.
In Christ,
Tommy & Elaine
